Week 2: August 30-September 6: First week of classes

What a busy week it has been so far! I can't believe I have only been here for less than two weeks, when in reality it feels like I have been at Cottey forever.
I received my schedule for my first semester at Cottey last Monday, after a short meeting with my academic advisor. I showed him the classes that I wanted to take, because they all fulfilled a credit and  all the classes were open, I got to take all the classes I wanted to! I am taking 17 credits this semester, which is 7 classes one of which is a non-credit. My schedule is pretty balanced, with a lot of time to study!

Monday-Wednesday-Friday:
International Relations
College Writing 1
College Algebra
Spanish 101
Tuesday:
Strategies for academic success
Introduction to Political Science
Spanish 101
Aquacises-water aerobics
Thursday
Strategies for academic success
Introduction to Political Science
Aquacises

After a full week of classes, I feel really good about my schedule and really enjoy my classes. My professors are all very unique, with different teaching styles and backgrounds, which makes for very interesting classes. One thing that I absolutely love about Cottey classes already, is the class size. The classes here are smaller than the ones in my high school. My largest class here has 25 students, with the smallest having 10 students. My professors are beginning to learn my name!

I have barely been here for two weeks, and I can already say that I absolutely love Cottey! I feel at home here, it's a really magical place. My one complaint, which is completey unchangeable is the weather in Missouri. It was so hot and humid the first week I felt constantly sticky, but thankfully the past few days have been cooler. However I have earned a greater appreciation for air conditioning!

The sunsets here are beautiful!

Monday was an absolutely gorgeous day, the sky was so blue.

Downtown Nevada, town hall.

Well I need to be getting to bed, I have class at 8:25 tomorrow! I can't wait to be getting some snail mail here, I finally learned to open my mailbox (they turn left to right to left-backwards to normal locks!).
